Friday Freebie – The Fur

The Fur – Sonntag

The hail from Ghent Belgium, home to a first Desert Fest edition this year. For those who went; they all increased their stamina and health. Damn those were a lot of stairs! And The Fur should have been on one of the stages for their new album Sonntag is stunning and made the November Doom Charts without any hesitation. Roberto Lucas wrote: “Do you want to take a pleasant trip to the confines of the cosmic psychedelic and let your mind fly? If the answer is YES, you are in the right place. ‘Sonntag‘ is a new sensory journey through distant galaxies with an exquisite, hazy and completely magnetic soundscape. A sonorous trance in which the best psychedelia of the 21st century is shown within forty magical and captivating minutes. Kraut rhythms are combined with exotic aromas to seduce the listener with beautiful melodies, which are modulated, becoming ever more acid or heavy.”

Their own words :

The Fur is an instrumental quartet of space cadets from Belgium.

Heavily influenced by the acid-ridden sixties and the heavy seventies, The Fur brings a show that takes the audience back to a time where music was a way of escaping. It’s not about spreading a message, it’s about spreading love, harmony and peace with sound.

Sonntag tells the story about the origin of the universe and all the chaos that went with it. As time gradually brings order and balance, mankind made its introduction. They brought back the chaos through various rituals and ultimately restarting the cycle anew.”
