Another Friday Freebie for you all, this one brought to you by the band itself! Before changing their name into THE SKULL GURU, the were called Slap Guru and they released some damn fine albums. Umashi’s Odyssey was the last as Slap Guru. Sofar Nofar, their first as THE SKULL GURU back in April 2022, and October 2023 is the official physical release date for their new Cheap Tracks album. But digitally it is out and rocking hard! So, we’re honored to bring you codes for this banging new album!

Their own words: ” Here’s Skull Guru (former Slap Guru) – 70’s psych hard rock. We are going to release our 5° album “Cheap Tracks” (out 1st of October 2023 on “Ai Preti Records” label), available on CD and digital. This is a live album, recorded in the Osteria Ai Preti, Verona (Italy) on April 20, 2023. We decided to release this live to celebrate our 10th birthday.

There are 11 songs, all taken from our 4 studio albums but slightly rearranged, a journey that traces our musical history highlighting its 70’s component. Actually in the disc you can hear a heavy and fuzz atmosphere but also small inaccuracies, voices from the stage and from under the stage, buzzes, natural distortions. All these things make the sound much more direct and genuine, just like the productions of the 70s. Ai Preti is a live venue that we love. The place is small, intimate, with excellent ambient acoustics, well managed and with an interested and attentive public. This venue has founded a new label with the aim of producing and releasing some concerts held on their stage. We are proud to represent the very first release of this wonderful project. Cheap Tracks will be available to the public on Bandcamp, with the free offer mode.”
