Another Friday Freebie for you all… This time we’re talking about an entire album. A debut album no less! Which made it onto the March 2023 Doom Charts. We’re talking about the very cool and very fuzzy WYNDRIDER! Their eight-track album brings you doom and stoner in just the right places, heady and sweaty!

Frazer Jones wrote about them on his Desert Psychlist: “Those anticipating something special coming from this relatively young band will not be disappointed with what they find on “WyndRider“, it may not be a genre defining game-changer but there is enough to be found here to indicate that they have more than what it takes to make that calibre of album in the future, and for a band who most of us had not heard of prior to this release, that is damn impressive.”

Their own words: “WyndRider is a four-piece Stoner Doom band from the mountains of East Tennessee. with their first show played in March of 2022. The debut self-titled album, WyndRider, was recorded in late September of the same year by Danielle Fehr from The Wizard Productions. The recordings are the most raw, natural sounding form of the songs that the band was able to capture in a studio setting, while still emulating the energy of a live performance. Bands such as Black Sabbath, Steppenwolf, and Budgie inspired their take on a continuation of heavy and psychedelic music. The themes of this album are a culmination of subjects such as apocalypse, alien life, the Satanic Panic, and sarcastic dissection of the Christian Church. It portrays a new version of the physical, biting addictiveness that Rock and Roll inspired for another generation.”
“Preparing for their debut, singles from the album were released by The Obelisk and Doomed & Stoned. WyndRider was released in full on March 31, 2023, exactly one year after the date of the band’s first show. WyndRider has since been featured by Weedian, Rob Hammer, and 666MrDoom, as well as many other journals, channels, and podcasts. Shortly following the release, they were listed as 11 on the March 2023 Doom Charts. Select songs off the album are available on all streaming platforms, with the full album accessible on Bandcamp. Physical copies include 12” colored vinyl records (100 eco mix hand-numbered presses with Bandcamp download code included) and CDs. These tracks set the tone for everything a listener will experience from this album- bluesy vocals, unholy instruments, dim lights, thick smoke, loud music.”
