MISTY ROUTE – WITHOUT A TRACE
For this second Friday Freebie we travel towards one of the definite Heavy Hotspots… And yes, there are so many hotspots across the globe for all our styles of heavy rock, that we would like to assume the Heavy Underground is coming topside. Is it? Anyway… When it’s from the Greek hotspot, you know Ioannis Valiakos knows about it… So up next, is Athens very own power trio MISTY ROUTE and their debut album WITHOUT A TRACE!
Or as Ioannis stated: “At the outset, it should be said that the debut album of Misty Route wears its influences on its sleeve with pride and the result is just pure rock fury! With prog moments that bring to mind Tool, to some classic metal rock moments (“Compass”) and tunes that go all the way to Metallica (“The Last Breath”) and Godsmack (“For You”), this album offers nearly an hour of great rock pleasure. Their music is inspired by a mixture of different musical genres and is characterized mainly by its ambient character and escalating groove. Touches of psychedelic rock are harmonically brought together with metal breakouts.
