Released in January 2026, Universo 25 is the second conceptual full-length album from Mexico City-based band ROSTRO DEL SOL. Out through ECHODELIC RECORDS, CLOSTRIDIUM RECORDS, STONERS DEALER RECORDS and SMOGLES RECORDS it made the January 2026 Doom Charts and got an extra ounce of love on the Peroration of that month, which became a duo Peroration with February. And rightfully so… For on ROSTRO DEL SOL’s Universo 25 it sounds like these six musicians escaped the seventies with a suitcase full or acid, jazz records and progressive rock blueprints. And then decided to blow them all apart on one single session! And they’re playing Ripple Fest Mexico on 14-11 this year!

Rostro Del Sol
Universo 25 is the second conceptual full-length album from Mexico City-based band Rostro del Sol. The work blends symphonic progressive rock, jazz rock, blues, heavy psych, and fine improvisation passages, building a sonic narrative inspired by real animal experiments, creating a story called Universo 25.

The band was formed in 2018 in CDMX, and in 2021 they gained incredible acceptance worldwide with their debut album. 2 years later, they released the Blue Storm EP. Currently consisting of Mitch, Joel, Jorge, Miguel, Cassiel, and Alejandro, the band aims to convey different feelings and sensations to the listener through their rhythms and melodies in Universo 25.
The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered at Rec-On Studio by Jorge Trejo, between 2024 and 2025. Collaborations by Max Mountain, Alain Bravo, and Carlos Greco on “Argonne”.
