UK-based doom heavyweights IRONRAT are back to reclaim their place in the heavy music scene with their sophomore album Beneath It All. This new record is a triumphant return nearly a decade after their acclaimed debut “Monument” (2015).
Drawing inspiration from legendary acts like Red Fang, Cathedral, Alice In Chains, Corrosion Of Conformity, Gozu, Down and Mastodon, IRONRAT merges the raw grit of doom and sludge metal with the emotive, groovy and catchy edge of grunge rock. The result is a sound that’s heavy, dynamic and unmistakably their own.
IRONRAT regroups with a revitalized line-up: Martin Wiseman on vocals and guitar (Psychlona, Wolves In Winter), Wayne Hustler on guitar (Wolves In Winter, ex-Monolith Cult), Stuart Hillman on bass and Gordon Wilkinson (ex-Khang, Hollow Earth, Lazarus Blackstar) on drums.
Recorded at Foel Studio and produced by Chris Fielding (Conan), Beneath It All is a testament to IRONRAT’s sonic evolution. Packed with massive riffs, crushing tones and a newfound melodic depth in the vocals, the album captures the band’s growth while staying true to their core sound.
