Y’all still with us on this wonderful Friday? Cause here comes another stunning one! They hail from Chapel Hill, North Carolina in the USA. A power trio named SKULL SERVANT! And their Astral Apothecary EP from back in March did very well already. It reached the Number 23 spot of the March Doom Charts, and Scott Spiers wrote back then: “Somehow, against all rational probability, this EP fricking slays! It sounds as if these kids were breastfed on sour goats’ milk with an endless loop of Reverend Bizarre, Candlemass, Electric Wizard, Pentagram, and Cathedral pumped into their nursery while their nannies were performing obscure and unspeakable rites in the basement.” And their new Traditional Black Magicks II combines tracks from that EP with earlier work and brand new tunes. All of which offer insights in their take on Psychedelic Doom, Stoner Metal, both in classic stylings or a nineties approach and a punk attitude…

Frazer Jones (Desert Psychlist) wrote: “Crunching distorted guitar tones, punchy rhythms, growling bass all topped of with vocals that are a weird blend of gothic doominesss and RATM style urban metal rap.“

Joop Konraad (Stoner HiVe) stated: “Intricate riffs tumble over each other as the drums crash and the bass rumbles underneath. Stonerrock gone metal, gone proto, gone the way of the Skull Servant!”
