NEW DAWN FADES – FOREVER

A third Friday Freebie comes at you from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the USA. The three are called NEW DAWN FADES and their debut release Forever. There’s this undercurrent of punk, grunge and sludge, but it’s the stonerized hardrock and blues that prevails and grooves the most. Riff heavy and heavy in their nods towards the good stuff from the eighties and nineties. Seriously, you could listen to this Forever…

Talk about leaving you wanting more, Forever is a tease of the highest order. New Dawn Fades started out as a one-man (or a couple man) project that as of this writing has expanded into a full-on band that will tour and will produce one of the more anticipated full lengths we will get in 2023 or 2024. Their own words: “NEW DAWN FADES is the new Philadelphia based project from current Ritual Earth vocalist and ex-Halo of Snakes guitarist, George Chamberlin aka GFA, which is being described as Heavy Psych Riff Rock. The band combines elements of Doom, Hard Rock, Grunge, and Punk and cites bands such as Kyuss, Soundgarden, Danzig, The Cult, Black Flag, Motley Crue, and Goatsnake amongst others as influences. Since the bands inception, New Dawn Fades has added guitarist Corey Pettingill (Blackhand, Cobra Whip) on Guitar and Rob Avery (Boy Sets Fire, Son & Heir) on Bass, with a full time drummer to be named later.”

“GFA plays all Guitars and Vocals. Matt Weber plays Drums on this recording as well as engineered guitars and drums at Gradwell House Recording in April of 2022. Bass and Vocals were recorded at Noisy Little Critter Recordings by Mike Bardzik & Donut in February 2023. Mixed by Matt Weber and mastered by David Downham in May 2023.
