ÀCID ÚRIC is a musical project let by Oriol Cardona, out of Barcelona, Spain. This is rock! With a natural flair and a classic take. In this case they are codes for two of the singles that make up the imminent new work of Àcid Úric. This is the project led by Oriol Cardona, who has also been the only permanent member over the years. Àcid Úric’s language is mainly rock, often close to the most classic rock and grunge, although their tastes range from heavy & funk.
A good example of this broad and generous spectrum can be found on the live album ‘Live, Vol.2 (Vic, 2011)’ where he even dares to cover Pearl Jam – in fact Oriol has had two tribute groups to this band (Jam de Perles and Riot Act) -, Bad Religion, Black Sabbath, Ramones, Sanjosex, Neil Young.
The project has almost two decades of history, although it has remained in editorial silence and on stage in the last decade, where Oriol has taken the opportunity to play with bands where he was requested professionally as a guitarist and also to create new projects. But Àcid Úric is undoubtedly his base project and where he pours all his energy and creativity, since it is still the band he has always dreamed of having.
This is a very special moment as he is finalizing the publication of his first work in ten years. It will be called ‘Atac d’acord’, a play on words in Catalan between ‘attack of the heart’ and ‘agreement’. More than thirty collaborators have participated in it. It has undoubtedly been a slow-burning project with a lot of dedication and professionalism. The album consists of 10 songs, 5 of them sung in Catalan and the remaining 5 sung in English. For now, only four songs are known, which are I attach the codes for two of them below.
