FESTIVE FREEBIE – THE ISOSCELES PROJECT

THE ISOSCELES PROJECT – BEAR THE TORCH

Released back in October, the new album BEAR THE TORCH by THE ISOSCELES PROJECT is a full on instrumental, psychedelic and progressive adventure. A touch of doom, stoner and a lot of metal! It’s a powerful return, capturing rebirth, persistence and self-determination in one hell of a journey. Crafted under challenging circumstances and driven by a renewed lineup, the album channels aggressive thrashy riffs, expansive psychedelic textures, and melodic post-rock passages into dynamic sonic storytelling. The title reflects a deeply personal process of forging ahead and lighting one’s own path, transforming years of solitude, transition, and growth into sound. Heavy, spacious, and purposeful, Bear The Torch stands as both a testament to resilience and a bold new chapter for the band.

Their own words:

Hamilton Ontario’s The Isosceles Project will release their third full length album entitled Bear the Torch October 17th,2025. The 42-minute heavy instrumental psychedelic stoner prog record covers a spectrum of sounds melding aggressive thrashy riffs, melodic synthy post rock passages, and dynamic sonic storytelling. For fans of Elder, Mastodon, REZN, Radiant Knife, and The Mars Volta.

A good place to start is with the Unicorn which features heavy thrashy riffs and psychedelic vibes.

After relocating back to Southern Ontario in 2021 songwriter Eric Euler began writing and recording Bear the Torch in his private studio. The record was completed in spring 2023 with help from Dave Sheldon who mastered the record.

The Isosceles Project formed in 2007 in Toronto Ontario, releasing their debut full length album Oblivion’s Candle in 2009 and sophomore release Bridges in 2012. A few notable features include appearing and performing on Much Music’s Disband reality TV show in 2009 ( Link below) and receiving album of the month in the May 2009 issue of Metal Hammer Magazine alongside Mastodon, Isis, and Alice in Chains. The band was known for their energetic live shows and long winding instrumental musical compositions. They successfully completed three tours of Canada before going on hiatus following the completion of a five-week American tour in 2012.

The Isosceles Project made their return to the stage Spring 2025 with a new lineup featuring Eric Euler (Guitar), Matt Medvesky (Bass), and Dan Duff (Drums).
