Friday isn’t over yet! You ready for another one? Another Friday Freebie to soothe all you savages beasts out there! Straight out of Venâncio Aires, Brazil comes LOCOMOTIVA ELÉTRICA! Our very own Matheus Jacques from the Bruxa Verde PR brings you the good word about this band and those awesome codes below. And good it is! This is premier instrumental heaviness, progressive, psychedelic and so incredibly warm. The five tracks will captivate, charm, and calm. All you animals will feel completely warm and fuzzy once this album is over… Amazing!

Their own words: “The power trio Locomotiva Elétrica is an instrumental band from Venâncio Aires/RS in Brazil and will release on February 9th their new Studio EP, “Os Animais que nos Habitam”. The material will be released on streaming platforms through the label Abraxas Records, being a five-track work that takes us on a hypnotic journey.

Consisting of several nuances and references, moving between Stoner Rock, Psychedelic Rock, the Sound of the 60s and 70s and Post Rock, the group’s sonority in this powerful work is like a time machine, connecting past and present in a unique way, harmonic and captivating. The beautiful cover art of the material, designed by artist Wendel Araújo, reminds us of this essence, evoking a lysergic and thought-provoking aura.

The EP “Os Animais que nos Habitam” consists of five tracks that gradually undo layers, intertwining and taking the listener on an intriguing journey through the universe created by the band, formed by the musicians Murilo Neumann (guitar), Eduardo Camini (drums ) and Lucas Stein (keyboard). Recorded between 2018 and 2023, produced by the band itself, the songs show an evolution in compositions and execution, bringing different moods and variations, including weight and melodic, over almost 30 minutes.

“Sonho Lúcido” is a delirium that travels through heavy guitars and cutting keyboards, ending in a dark and powerful lament.

“Funeral” shows the band’s ability to create different dynamics in the same song, going from brutal weight to calm several times.

Terra Seca” is perhaps the heaviest song on the album. With a beautiful introduction, the song leads to powerful riffs that culminate in an explosion of fuzz and hammond.

“O Outro Que Também Sou Eu” is the most experimental song ever recorded by the band. Starting with riffs that even resemble songs closer to pop, it evolves into a tangle of guitars, keyboards and synthesizers that form an ambience close to shoegaze.

“Cabo Canaveral”, as the name suggests, takes off in heavy riffs and direct solos, through a psychedelic introduction, like a countdown, bringing a closure full of energy and rock and roll to the album.”
