Atomic Vulture – Stone of the Fifth Sun

(Brugge, Belgium)

Atomic Vulture (founded 2011) is an instrumental three-piece stoner/space rock band from Belgium. They sound old-school, dusty and they rock like the center of the sun. Swirling grooves, thunderous driving beats and hot bass lines. Their tracks have a divine atmosphere often swinging between fuzzed out grooves and a more ambient style, not forgetting to add some psyched or even doom aesthetics from time to time.

After a succesfull first EP ‘Atomic Vulture’ release in July 2012 followed up with a second EP ‘Planet Emerald’ release in early 2013, the single ‘Moon Base’ released later that year, announced a further exploration of space. In 2014, Atomic Vulture released their debut album ‘Into Orbit’ through Pink Tank Records (Germany) on vinyl in various colours. That album and release brought them all over Europe in great venues playing festivals and shows with great bands like: Fatso Jetson, Greenleaf, Desert Storm, Ritual King, Cowboys & Aliens, King Hiss, Komatsu, Sardonis, Fire Down Below, Zoë, Swamp Machine, e.o. After a line-up struggle they worked hard on their new EP: ’Stone of the Fifth Sun’.

In the spring of 2018, Jackalope Music (Germany), released this on cd but it wasn’t until now that they found a partner in POLDERRECORDS to press the vinyl. As this is my first project doing vinyl, I took it very serious. Because we were able to press the vinyl in Belgium at the brand new pressing plant, Dunkpressing, I could overlook the whole process.

Finally, fans have the chance to own this great record on their beloved medium: vinyl. And for the collectors, we made some really nice special coloured editions. All limited and numbered!
