26. MIND FUNERAL – THE SPIRAL / NEW!

25. NËWSÜN – DEMONPSYCH / NEW!
848 Points
Downer Rock, Stoner Rock, Heavy Psych
Glasgow, Scotland
Self-released

NËWSÜN have seemingly found a way to dial their pedals and amps to a whole new value of fuzziness that far exceeds the eleven jokingly referred to in the spoof rockumentary “Spinal Tap”, the fuzz and distortion decorating these songs is sometimes as close to completely breaking up as it is possible to get without becoming just noise, something that may be looked down on by those whose tastes are more conservative but which will go down a treat with those who love their grooves loud and gnarly.
~ Frazer Jones (Desert Psychlist)

24. GOAT SHAMAN – MONKEY PALACE / NEW!
900 Points
Stoner, Sludge, Groove, Doom
Melbourne, Australia
Self-released

Here’s an album that absolutely brings the heft and weight of the mighty riff to this months Doom Charts! A touch over an hour of sledgehammer wall to wall chaos awaits within the ‘Monkey Palace’. It’s a seriously heavy groove-laden debut album, and not your standard stoner band affair either, there’s some serious songwriting and technical chops going on. If you’re after the heavy, get on board with the madness of GOAT SHAMAN!
~ Clint Willis (Hand of Doom Radio)

23. FUZZRIDERS – I LIKE IT / NEW!
910 Points
Stoner, Doom, Heavy-Psych
Cagliari, Sardina, Italy
Electric Valley Records

I can’t think of a more appropriate band name as FUZZRIDERS bring the ultimate fuzz guitar attack, riding across nine tracks of dusty desert jams. Hard hitting and pulling no punches, the album holds you captive while introducing you to super-rich stoner-blues that reflect the beginnings of the genre. It’s a constant barrage of headbanging groove and endless riffs that will entertain any stoner enthusiast.
~ Jon McGough (Stoner Rock Army, Stoner HiVe, Outlaws Of The Sun)

22. ACEVES – MAGNUM DOPUS / NEW!
1134 Points
Stoner, Grunge, Punk, Rock ‘n Roll
San Jose, California, USA
I:AND:I Recordings

Mark Aceves wants to hear fun in his rock and roll again, so that’s exactly what he went out to create with his solo album Magnum Dopus under the name ACEVES. These are nine tracks of a man working through his stuff after suffering some terrible personal losses and coming out on the other side with as much of a sunny outlook on life as possible. Magnum Dopus is a fun, personal, therapeutic, and kick ass party down record that is all over the place in the best sort of way, and will be one of your soundtracks to the summer…
~ Rich Piva (Musipedia of Metal, FuzzDoomRip, Rich & Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour)

21. SPIDER KITTEN – THE TRUTH IS CAUSTIC TO LOVE / NEW!
1188 Points
Alternative, Grunge, Sludge, Americana
Wales, UK
APF Records

Changing things up with every album released. Even though dust never gets the chance to settle when one is referring to SPIDER KITTEN. The new album The Truth Is Caustic To Love is once again a different side of the beast, stretching yet another one of its many legs. Fourteen songs, thirty-seven minutes. Grunge powering down, sludge slamming it home, offset by Americana touched strumming and open, personal and vulnerable songwriting that turns much of the songs into a confessional statement. Another album that weaves and builds their gigantic web of heaviness…
~ Joop Konraad (Stoner HiVe)

20. BUSHFIRE – SNAKES BITE TALES / NEW!
1372 Points
Stoner Metal, Southern Rock, Blues
Darmstadt, Germany
Self-released

A big bold swaggering blend of stonerized doom, swampy southern metal and heavy blues that could easily be mistaken for something coming out of NOLA’s vibrant underground scene. Vocals are big powerful and posses a wearied soulful grittiness while the grooves swing like a hanged man in a hurricane.
~ Frazer Jones (Desert Psychlist)

19. ORGANIC DESTRUCTION – PROPHETS OF CTHULHU / NEW!
1422 Points
Doom, Psychedelic, Rock
Hachenburg, Germany
Self-released

ORGANIC DESTRUCTION proves on their sophomore album Prophets of Cthulhu that they are bona fide wizards when it comes to the cornerstone of stoner/doom: a massively heavy, riff-based, lumbering sound laced with mind-warping psychedelia, creating a hallucinogenic experience for the listener that’s nearly as physical as it is auditory. However, this band really turns both of these elements up to eleven, and that only heightens the experience, sharpening the clarity of the mental journey and deepening the reverberations of riffs that “cut deep into your bones”.
~ Stephanie Zalta (DoomCakes, Screaming From The Heavy Underground)

18. KING WITCH – III / NEW!
1482 Points
Heavy Metal, Doom, Stoner
Edinburgh, Scotland, UK
Listenable Records

Heirs of classic doom and heavy metal, KING WITCH returns with a third full-length album filled with heavy riffs, melodic solos, crushing rhythms above which reign the sumptuous vocals of Laura Donnelly. III is a perfectly balanced album: heaviness alternates with power, short tracks rub shoulders with more progressive pieces, dark atmosphere is illuminated by brilliant solos. Even though EP, singles, and split have kept fans waiting, 5 years is a long time since Body Of Light. Thankfully, our patience has been rewarded with this long-awaited gift!
~ Thierry “Pumpkin-T“ François (Metal Intégral)

17. WIZZO – PLACE OF THE CHOSEN LORDS / NEW!
1600 Points
Stoner, Grunge
Chicago, Il, USA
Wizzo Music

Chicago rockers WIZZO bring us another killer melodic heavy rocker that would have sounded as good in 1995 as it does now. Equal parts stoner, grunge, and heavy alt rock, Place of the Chosen Lords delivers eleven rocking ear worms that show how the band truly understands how to keep the melody in their heaviness. Great vocals, killer guitar work, and songs that would have demanded radio airplay back when the general listening public had much better taste.
~ Rich Piva (Musipedia of Metal, FuzzDoomRip, Rich & Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour)

16. DOMKRAFT – DOMKRAFT / NEW!
1816 Points
Psychedelic, Stoner, Space Rock
Sweden
Magnetic Eye Records

DOMKRAFT thermite their way into 2025 with a re-vamped, caustic and thoroughly Psychedelic of their decade-old debut. What a job! Each track feels the vibrancy and the atmosphere that should have been more prominent. A beautiful snapshot of a truly inventive band.
~ Stevie Reek (Howls from The Hollows, Doomed & StonedStoner HiVe)

15. DAHUZ – CINERES MUNDI / NEW!
2120 Points
Post-Doom, Progressive, Stoner, Heavy Psych
Aix-en-Provence, France
Self-released

There are many ways to store energy and DAHUZ has just invented its own, ready to pour into your ears at the push of the button. Cineres Mundi is a concentrated energy that shares many characteristics with the law of gravity, seismic power, electrical potential, and cosmic radiation. With DAHUZ, energy doesn’t mean aggression but it sounds like a force that is both “heavy” and “poetic”. 3rd qualifier: “immersive” is the key word to describe the listening experience. Cineres Mundi (Ashes of the World) places a main emphasis on music and, while the album isn’t instrumental, the vocals are sparse. This album will appeal to fans of dark psychedelia.
~ Thierry “Da Pumpkin-T“ François (Metal Intégral)

14. RIFFCHILD – SUN WILL FOLLOW / NEW!
2457 Points
Metal, Doom, Psych, Stoner
Rimouski, Quebec, Canada
Self-released

They call themselves RIFFCHILD but maybe it should be Riff-Daddy. These dudes live up to their name big time, bringing riffs galore on their fantastic debut. I’ll keep it short. If you are reading this that means you already like this music. Trust me, you’ll love this one. You know what to do next, play it loud.
~ Andy Kovalcik (Bandcamp-NYP-Hard&Heavy)

13. BLACK HELIUM – THE ANIMALS ARE COMING / NEW!
2988 Points
Heavy Psych, Stoner, Desert, Rock
London, England, UK
Riot Season

An explosion of bright colors radiates in a cloud of smoke, London’s BLACK HELIUM is back and The Animals Are Coming. Welcome to their new psych rock fest! Listening to this album is an incredible adventure through kaleidoscopic jams. Let your brain float from top to bottom and from left to right, lulled by the hypnotic rhythms, caressed by the soft and bewitching vocals. The crystal-clear and particularly creative sound adds pleasure to pleasure. Just a puff, another puff, on and on, and on… Try this and you can’t stop!
~ Thierry “Pumpkin-T“ François (Metal Intégral)

12. PADDANG – LOST IN LIZARDLAND / NEW!
3105 Points
Psych, Stoner, Fuzz
Toulouse, France
Stolen Body Records / Le Cèpe Records

Out of France and straight into the Lizardland they went, the trio known as PADDANG! A fourth member was added for their new album Lost In Lizardland, but the result stays the same. A wild and wonderful psychedelic scorcher. Fans of Thee Oh Sees or King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard will surely move their asses to this one, but as the opening atmospheric soundscape The End Of Hanoumane ends, everyone else will surge forward as well, and become as manic as the girls and guys around you…
~ Joop Konraad (Stoner HiVe)

11. HOLYROLLER – RAT KING / NEW!
1971 Points
Stoner Metal, Heavy Rock
Winston/Salem, North Carolina, USA
Ripple Music

Most recovery-oriented albums tend to be over-dramatic and sensationalized. HOLYROLLER brings some subtlety to the proceedings. It’s like they invite you to explore the content rather than hit you over the head with a sledgehammer. The sledgehammer part is in the riffs and their stellar rhythm section, which can carry a groove better than most. But the best thing about Rat King is that it left me wanting more!
~ Scott Spiers (CleanAndSoberStoner, Monster Riff)

10. SLEEPING MOUNTAIN – SLEEPING MOUNTAIN / NEW!
4225 Points
Heavy Psych, Progressive, Desert Rock
London, England
Self-released

If there is one band who can do progressive and heavy without the need to get over complex and complicated then it is North London’s SLEEPING MOUNTAIN, these guys do progressive without all the unnecessary fiddly twiddly bits and the sound they make together is all the better for it.
~ Frazer Jones (Desert Psychlist)

9. RAVINE – CHAOS AND CATASTROPHES / NEW!
4704 Points
Doom, Sludge
Portland, Oregon, USA
Ripple Music

There is something lurking in the woods of Portland, Oregon that is preparing to unleash its wrath upon the world. That wrath, in the form of gigantic killer riffs and some serious heavy, will be delivered upon thee by the five-piece destroyers that make up RAVINE, and the five tracks on their debut full length record, Chaos and Catastrophes, with Ripple Music acting as the delivery vehicle for all of the mayhem this record brings. RAVINE delivers the most punishing sludgy doom on their side of the Mississippi. A heavy and epic journey.
~ Rich Piva (Musipedia of Metal, FuzzDoomRip, Rich & Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour)

8. FUSSKALT – FACELESS MAN / NEW!
5292 Points
Stoner Rock, Stoner Metal
Skanderborg, Denmark
Self-released

Even though I’m generally more intrigued by bands who dare to think outside the box and explore the boundaries of the heavy underground with some kind of quirky conviction, I absolutely love me some straight up traditional stoner rock that harks back to the heydays of bands like Tummler, We, 7 Zuma 7, Red Giant and more modern equivalents like Sasquatch. FUSSKALT from Denmark can be added to that list. They showed some promise from the get go and have come to full fruition on their latest ep/album. It’s packed to the brim with catchy songs, a chugging rhythm section, great leads and tons of energy. Add to that the impressive and convincing vocals of new singer Niko and you’ve got every ingredient needed to separate a traditional stoner rock album from the pack and make it a great one. And that’s exactly what ‘Faceless Man‘ is: a great ep/album and by far FUSSKALT‘s best release to date.
~ Ronny Dijksterhuis (Stoner HiVe)

7. ELECTRIC CITIZEN – EC4 / NEW!
5628 Points
Psychedelic, Retro, Rock
Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
Heavy Psych Sounds

The citizens have come back and they are more electric than ever. A triumphant return for ELECTRIC CITIZEN’s EC4 album, blending some of my favorite genres of retro rock, proto hard rock, and classic psychedelia.
~ Michael D’Amato (Playgroundz RocksD’Amato Production)

6. WOODHAWK – LOVE FINDS A WAY / NEW!
5670 Points
Stoner, Grunge, Heavy Alt Rock
Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Grand Hand Records

Canada is chock full of killer stoner/doom/psych bands right now. Most of those bands I am familiar with are from the Toronto area or from the booming Montreal scene. Apparently though, all of the killer riffs, mind-bending psych, and stoner rock goodness are not just limited to the provinces that those cities belong to, as Calgary, Alberta’s WOODHAWK stand tall with all of the other killer bands bringing the heavy rock from The Great White North.  The trio’s new record, and third overall, Love Finds A Way, is nine tracks of melodic stoner rock with great vocals, tons of riffs, and organ leading the way, and that makes this listener very happy.
~ Rich Piva (Musipedia of Metal, FuzzDoomRip, Rich & Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour)

5. 1968 – ROYAL BASTARDS / NEW!
6562 Points
Stoner, Psychedelic
Cheshire, UK
No Profit Recordings

Acclaimed UK Stoner/Psych outfit 1968 return with their eighth release “Royal Bastards“, demonstrating all the power and creativity that has become their mainstay. From the heavy riffs of opener “Standby”, the lurching cadence of “Scorched Earth” to the Psychedelic frenzy of “Merlin”, 1968 have fused together a brilliant album that will resonate with Stoner and Psychedelic fans alike!
~ Stevie Reek (Howls from The Hollows, Doomed & StonedStoner HiVe)

4. LORQUIN’S ADMIRAL – LORQUIN’S ADMIRAL / NEW!
7476 Points
Alternative, Desert, Stoner, Grunge, Rock
Santa Rosa, California, USA
Argonauta Records

The debut album by LORQUIN’S ADMIRAL has the potential to influence the entire scene. The emphasis on smart song writing coupled with brilliant vocals has the potential to find an audience much larger than just the heavy underground. Dandy and Dawn Brown are an ethereal writing and vocal team, weaving spells in the form of songs, taking heavy underground rock to unexplored musical realms, and altering the reality of what rock music can become. This album is unlike anything you’ve heard this year. The song writing is next level. The lyrics matter, every song makes a statement. The guitar playing is heavy as hell, featuring guest Dave Angstrom along with Marlon King and Nick Hannon. The band meshes so well together. It’s hard to believe this is a debut, until you understand how experienced the lineup is (Hermano, Fizz Fuzz, Afghan Whigs, etc). This album elevates the genre, taking the heavy underground closer and closer to the surface. I dont think LORQUIN’S ADMIRAL can be contained. This is a game changer.
~ S Patrick Brooks (The Heavy Underground Farm Report, Outlaws of the Sun)

3. KING POTENAZ – ARCANE DESERT RITUALS VOL. 1 / NEW!
9834 Points
Doom, Psychedelic Rock
Fasano, Italy
Majestic Mountain Records

Arcane Desert Rituals Vol. 1, the highly anticipated album from beloved Italian doomsters KING POTENAZ, delivered on its promise to be the band’s “heaviest and most atmospheric release to date” in a big way. Everything about the band’s sound is elevated… The atmospheric elements are so vividly haunting, you can practically see a ghostly vapor rising before you as you listen. Conversely, the heaviness is even more pulverizing, creating soul-crushing scenes of dread, despair, and doom (naturally). Furthermore, the increased presence of drone takes time to set an evocative scene while strongly emphasizing the sensation of being overcome by ungodly forces. The icing on the cake is hearing a more melodic and expressive side to frontman Giuseppe’s vocals, as well as an ultra-powerful guest vocal performance from Jana Maista. In a nutshell, Arcane Desert Rituals Vol. 1 is a modern doom masterpiece for which KING POTENAZ held absolutely nothing back, weaving darkly captivating tales saturated with evil and dripping with blood.
~ Stephanie Zalta (DoomCakes, Screaming From The Heavy Underground)

2. MOOCH – KIN / NEW!
11988 Points
Psychedelic Rock, Desert Rock, Grunge
Montreal, Québec, Canada
Black Throne Productions

MOOCH’s fourth album KIN delivers a gritty yet soaring heavy psychedelic journey through eight tracks that blend fuzzy desert rock and raw power. It’s a record that hits hard but leaves room to breathe. This is the sound of a band completely zoned in.
~ Michael D’Amato (Playgroundz RocksD’Amato Production)

1. GOYA – IN THE DAWN OF NOVEMBER / NEW!
33183 Points
Doom, Stoner, Sludge, Grunge, Metal
Phoenix, Arizona, USA
Blues Funeral Recordings

Descending from glacial altitudes down to the fiery gates of the underworld, GOYA has returned with the monumental album ‘In the Dawn of November.’ It’s a crushingly heavy and melodic album that oozes despair while pointing the middle finger to the heavens. The production is excellent, highlighting the band in every facet. Although the bass and guitar tones are especially thick which help capture the weighty feel of the compositions. The album cover (as well as the album itself) is a favorite of the year and only reminds us of how we long for the wintry November days ahead.
~ Jon McGough (Stoner Rock Army, Stoner HiVe, Outlaws Of The Sun)

Do you like your doom heavy, tuned low, chock filled with riffs, and super depressing? Well, the six songs on the new GOYA record, In The Dawn Of November, are here for you in a big way. How big? How about bringing in legend Jack Endino behind the board, and you can certainly tell he has his fingerprints all over this record. There are not enough super heavy yet very accessible records out there, but now we have In The Dawn Of November to change all that. Heavy, doomy, melodic, expertly played, perfectly produced, and enough sadness to make you an emotional wreck, the new GOYA record rules and is a for sure album of the year candidate and one of my favorite doom records in a very long time.
~ Rich Piva (Musipedia of Metal, FuzzDoomRip, Rich & Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour)
